Teofilo Martinez

Teofilo Baeza Martinez, 79, of Pecos, passed away on May 9, 2021 in Pecos, Texas.

Teofilo was born in Baranco de Guadalupe, Chihuahua, Mexico to Manuel and Abelina Martinez on February 28, 1942. He was married to Angelita Porras Martinez for 20 years.

He worked as a truck driver in his younger’s days. He was able to retire and begin his work as a ranch hand. He fell in love with farm animals, and especially loved horses.

Teofilo is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Abelina Martinez, his sister Agapita Nieto, his brother Salome Martinez.

Teofilo is survived by Daughter Anabel Martinez, Son Saul Martinez and Wife Maria Martinez, Son Fernando Martinez, Son Teofilo Martinez JR. “Tio Juni”, Sisters Otilia Levario and Rosaelva Martinez, 10 Grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Fernando Martinez Jr., Jonathan Martinez, Jose Pando Jr., Andres Mendoza, Joseph Jaquez, Fidencio Flores.

Viewing will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home, 116 W. 4th St., Pecos, Tx from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm with rosary at 7:00 pm. Masks must be worn.

The services will be Friday May 14, 2021 at 10:00 am at Santa Rosa Catholic Church, 620 E. 4th St. Pecos, Texas. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.  On the day of the service only immediate family members and pallbearers are to be at the funeral home, the rest of family members and friends are to be at the church by 9:00 am so they can be seated masks and social distancing are to be maintained at all times.
