Amelia Valles

Amelia Valles (97), of Pecos, TX, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 in Pecos, TX.

Amelia was born in Balmorhea to Cipriano and Paula Matta on April 27, 1924. She married the love of her life of 77 years, Manuel Valles on November 7, 1943 in Pecos, TX. She worked as a proud  homemaker raising their six children. She was a devout Catholic and a lifetime Pecos resident.

Amelia is preceded in death by Cipriano and Paula Matta, parents; Quirino Matta, Santiago Matta, Daniel Matta, brothers, and Juanita Matta, sister; Eloy Valles, son; Gilbert Moreno, grandson.

Amelia is survived by her husband, Manuel Valles, children, Gloria Lara spouse Henry (deceased) of Abilene; Gilbert Valles spouse Mary Ann (deceased) of Abilene; Elida Yarra spouse Pedro of Pecos; Eloy Valles (deceased) spouse Faye of Pecos; Manuel Valles spouse Ramona of Odessa; Betsy Fuentez spouse Dario, of Midland;  21 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 43 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild. Her family brought her the most joy.

Pallbearers will be Rene Lara, Randy Lara, Cipriano Moreno, Eloy Valles, Manuel Valles III, grandsons, and Oscar Dominguez, great grandson.

Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary starting at 7:00 P.M.

Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church, interment will follow Mass at Greenwood Cemetery.
