Apolonia Ornelas

Apolonia Muniz Ornelas, 90, of Balmorhea, passed away on April 16, 2022 in Fort Stockton, TX. Apolonia was born in Mexico to Marcos and Mauricia Muniz on July 12, 1931.  She married Felipe Ornelas in Pecos and were married for over 40 years.

Apolonia is preceded in death by her parents, Marcos and Mauricia Muniz, brothers, Antonio and Jesus Muniz and sister Maria Muniz.

Apolonia is survived by her husband, Felipe Ornelas of Balmorhea, sisters Ramona Baeza of Coyanosa, Juana Muniz of Monahans, Cruz Mendoza of Leveland and Aurora Muniz of Phoenix Az. Brother Pete Muniz of Monahans, Tx., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Salvador Duran, Joshua Ramirez, LeeRoy Baeza, Joe Ornelas, Ruben Baeza and Gregory Prieto, Manuel Renteria Jr.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 21 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Rosary will be at 7.30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Pecos Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10.00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 in Balmorhea, TX., at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Balmorhea cemetery.

Arrangements are by Pecos funeral home.
