Armando "Tonina" N. Fuentez

Armando N. Fuentez, affectionately known as "Tonina" by his family of Pecos, Texas, peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by the love of his family on November 18, 2024.

Tonina was born in Pecos, Texas to Daniel and Joaquina Fuentez on June 14, 1955. He was a lifetime Pecos resident and a Catholic. For several years he worked as a groundskeeper for Queen of Peace Catholic Church in El Paso, Texas.

If you could describe Tonina in two words, it would be “joy” and “vivacious.” He was full of life and energy, his humor and uniqueness brought joy to whomever crossed his path. Tonina leaves behind nothing but warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Daniel and Joaquina Fuentez and brothers Raymond Fuentez, Rodolfo Fuentez, David Fuentez, Santiago “Jimmy” Fuentez and the Very Reverend Trinidad “Trini” Fuentez.

Tonina is survived by his daughter Tracie Fuentez and two granddaughters Byanca Fuentez (Robert Moreno) and Aaliyah Briceno (Anthony); three great-grandchildren Ember, Emmy and Elian. Seven brothers Augustin Fuentez (Gloria), Manual Fuentez (Lavita), Daniel Jr. Fuentez (Hilda), Javier Fuentez, Rogelio Fuentez, Christopher Fuentez and Joshua Fuentez (Mariela). Four sisters Teresa Hemmila (Bill), Maria Fuentez (David Kolberson), Martha Griffin (Duane) and Raquel Contreras. He is also survived with a large extended family of nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday November 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM, With the Mass following at 2:00 pm at Saint Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Matta officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery Pecos, Texas.
