Bernarda R Chavez (Tongorie/ Bernie) 84 of Pecos went home to be with the Lord on Saturday March 3, 2018 at La Paloma Nursing home in San Diego Texas.
She was born on Aug 20, 1933 in Pecos Texas to Eurvano Chavez and Isabel Ramos Chavez
Visitation will be held on Sunday March 11, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel and on Monday March 12, 2018 from 9:00 Am to 9:00 PM.
Rosary will be held on Monday March 12, 2018 at 7:30 PM at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
She was a lifetime Catholic. Bernarda was the owner of Pecos Famous Chavez Snow Cone Stand on 5th Street, which was known for her snow cones, popcorn ball, hot pickles and candy apples. She devoted her life to the Lord and her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents; 6 brothers, Frutoso, Thomas, Victoriano, Antonio, Meliton, Roman Chavez; 2 sisters Paula Valencia and Manuela Leos.
Bernarda is survived by her loving son Enrique Chavez and wife Alicia of Freer Texas One Sister Santos Garcia of Odessa, Texas; 12- Grandchildren Rebecca Leos, Liza Chavez, Neesa (Francisco)Chavez, Kimberly( Danny) Enmon of Pecos, Texas; Kathy Garzon of California; Vanessa ( Homero Jr.) Arizpe of Maypearl, Texas; Ofelia (Roy) Chavez, Enrique E Chavez Jr., Valene (Rolando) Aguillon, Victoria ( Travis) Salinas, Valerie ( Marcelo) Vega, Martin ( Kaylin) Vega Jr. of Freer, Texas; 30 Great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends
