Bonnie La Nell Kribbs (Yonna), 82, passed away on December 11, 2024. Her final moments were spent peacefully at her home in Longview. She was born September 14, 1942, in Pecos, TX, first daughter of the late Levi and Earlene Garrett.
She attended Pecos High School, and married Mac Hoyt Foster on September 17, 1960. They welcomed a baby girl, April in 1962 and baby boy Hoyt in 1965.
Bonnie began her career in 1970 when she started as a secretary in the oil and gas industry, ultimately gaining the training, skills, and contacts to become an oil and gas landman. Along the way, she also obtained her real estate license where she focused on commercial real estate and commercial property investments. She traveled across the country for years, completing dozens of oil and gas projects and making many friends along the way. Until 2020, she was an independent oil and gas landman, teaching the trade to many throughout her long career.
In her later years, Bonnie enjoyed managing home improvement projects, sketching portraits of loved ones, and Facebook stalking; and if you were fortunate enough to play against her in Words With Friends, we’re sorry to report that she cheated. We caught her.
She also adored and catered to her adopted dog, Farrah.
She will be remembered for her work ethic and take-charge attitude, unique style, and dedication to lengthy daily phone conversations (usually on speaker in public). Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Earlene; and sister Cheryl Watts.
She is survived by her loving companion of over 20 years Bob Westmoreland, daughter April Foster Rogers (Jimmy) of Keller, and son Mac Hoyt Foster II (Tonjia) of Abilene; grandchildren Shacie Guyette (Stony), Tori Morris (Marcus), Hayli Houghton (Seth), Garrett Rogers (Kameron), Emily Ahlschwede (Josh), and Ryder Foster (Rainie). At the time of her death, she had fifteen great grandchildren.
Bonnie is also survived by her sisters Lynn Labay (Glenn) of Fort Stockton and Kathryn Smith (Jim) of Gun Barrel City. She leaves behind five nieces, two bonus children, and dozens of extended family members. She also leaves behind many cherished cousins from the Garrett and Kelly families and her very best friend, Jackie Davis.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Pecos, TX on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. In remembrance of Bonnie’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to CASA of Tarrant County
