Catarino Ornelas Carrasco Jr.

Catarino “Cat” Carrasco Jr. 68, of Pecos passed away August 18, 2024 in Pecos TX. Cat was born in Pecos TX to Catarino Vasquez Carrasco Sr. and Virginia Ornelas Carrasco on February 7, 1956. He was married to the love of his life Belia Carrasco. Cat and Belia went on to have 4 children: Jessica Acosta, Rodney, Hector and Robert Carrasco. Cat was a man of all trades from being an operator with Canal Well Service, working RCDC as a correctional officer and following his makers footsteps as a carpenter. 

Cat was an obedient born again Christian and committed the majority of his life singing, preaching and helping others develop a relationship with Christ. He loved playing his guitar and singing his heart out. He was a man of great humility, kindness, and compassion. He had a talent for carpentry work and found joy in fixing things. His greatest love, however, was reserved for his family, particularly his cherished grandkids. Those that knew Cat would always say he was a great man with a great heart. In the end if you knew CAT then knew everything he was about and where his heart was when it came to helping others. 

Cat is preceded in death by his parents; Catarino Vasquez Carrasco Sr. and and Virginia Ornelas Carrasco, and sister Margie Gonzales.

Cat is survived by siblings; Benito Carrasco, Mary Lopez, and Elfida Morales

Pallbearers will be Jessica Acosta, Phillip Morales, Rudy Deanda, Javin Acosta, Rodney Carrasco, Jeffery Carrasco, Marcus Carrasco, Anthony Carrasco, and Fabian Gonzalez

Please join us in celebrating his life Thursday August 22,2024 with visitation at 12pm to 9pm with a life celebration service starting at 7pm at the Pecos Funeral Home.

 Funeral Mass will take place on Friday August 23, 2024 at 11am the Pecos Funeral Home with Interment following at Greenwood Cemetery. 

As we say” see you later” to an amazing kind soul, let us remember Cat for the loving heart he had and the light he brought to many of our lives.
