Charles Scroggins

Charles Wayne Scroggins, 74 of Pecos, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday April 12, 2021 at his residence. Wayne was born on January 5,1947 in Columbia, Tennessee to Robert Howard Scroggins and Maudie Louise Scroggins.

He moved to Pecos, Texas from Santa Fe, Tennessee along with his family in 1958 at the age of 11.  Wayne graduated from Pecos High School in 1964 and attended Sul Ross State
University in Alpine, Texas for 2 years. Wayne met Rose Mary Richards and they were married on July 9,1965 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Wayne was the Owner of Wayne's Garage (since 1976) and Wayne's Auto Sales. He was a Mechanic, Race Car Driver of the 1968 Camero " Judge Roy Bean " and a Gambler .  Wayne holds the 1980 Western Bracket Championship in El Paso, Texas for Drag Racing.

Wayne suffered a Stroke in June 2013, but still loved to go gambling in Hobbs, New Mexico and Bossier City, Louisana and watching Drag Racing on TV.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Howard and Maudie Louise Scroggins and a granddaughter Melissa Shae Scroggins.

He is survived by Rose Mary Scroggins, Daughter, Janet Lynn Natividad (son-in-law, Israel "Viso") of Pecos, Texas and Son, Robert Wayne Scroggins (daughter-in-law, Carla) of Odessa, Texas. Brother, Robert (Bob) Wesley Scroggins (sister-in-law, Nanette) of Dallas, Texas. Grandchildren, Nicholas, Cristal and Kasey Scroggins all of Odessa, Texas and Jadyn Riel Natividad of Pecos, Texas. Three great grandchildren, Kylie, Isabella and Jionni Scroggins all of Odessa, Texas. Nephew, Johnathan Wesley Scroggins (Christina) of Louisana and numerous cousins.

The Scroggins and Natividad families wish to extend our sincere appreciation to his providers Laura Natividad and Lupe Morales. Also to Pecos County Memorial Home Health and Hospice staff members Zelda and Monica.

Visitation will be held at Pecos Funeral Home on 607 W. 3rd. St. in Pecos, Texas. Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 9 am to 8 pm, Masks and social distancing are to be maintained at all times.

Graveside Service will be at 2 pm at Fairview Cemetery on Friday, April 16, 2021.
