Consuelo Arreguy

Consuelo P. Arreguy 78 yrs, a long life resident of Pecos, TX, went to rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 18, 2025. 

Consuelo was born on May 29, 1946 to Amada "Amadita" and Candelario Pena in Barstow TX.

Visitation for Consuelo will be held on Thursday February 27, 2025 from 12:00pm to 9:00 pm at Pecos Funeral Home. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on February 27, 2025

Funeral Mass for Consuelo will be Celebrated on Friday 28, 2025 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow TX at 10:00 am, Burial will at Barstow Cemetery in Barstow Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Pecos Funeral Home.

Consuelo is preceded in death by her loving husband Benjamin G Arreguy, Parents; Candelario and Amada Pena. Sisters; Refujia Pena Gomez, Maria Pena Natividad. Brothers; Reymundo Pena, Pablo Pena, Domingo Pena, Candelario Jr Pena, Jose Pena, Silverio Pena.

Consuelo was a Catholic a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.With a quiet personality, yet a love so loud for her children and grandchildren. Consuelo was a long life homemaker. In her spare time she enjoyed listening to music, reading, doing word puzzles, and she loved anything pink.Her favorite thing to do to pass time was to play scratch off tickets and an occasional trip to a casino. She loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren and being at family gatherings. She was known as 'Chelo' to close friends and family and 'Nana' to her grandchildren.Consuelo's greatest accomplishment and joys of life were her two daughters; Monette Contreras and Yvonne Arreguy. She also had the honor to help care for her nephew Eric Pena of Barstow TX.Consuelo's greatest and proudest moment in life was becoming a grandmother. She loved every single minute of it. Her grandchildren gave her life and kept her on her toes.

She is survived by her daughter Monette Contreras and son in law Freddy Contreras Jr of Pecos TX,Daughter Yvonne Arreguy of Austin TX; Four grandchildren Iliana Maya Contreras, Freddy Alaine Contreras III, Gabriela Mia Contreras, Kariza Mie Contreras; Three great grandchildren, Genevieve Alohilani Flores, J'Aaliyah McKenzie Flores and Gianna Taiyari Contreras and Great Grandpup Kash and numerous,cousins nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers for Consuelo will be Sam Contreras, Javier Contreras Jr, Adrian Barreno, Johnny Prieto, Angel Pena and Eric Pena.
