Cruz Tarango Muniz

Cruz T. Muniz, ”Papi”, 87, was born in Candelaria, TX to Juan and Eduvijes Muniz on May 3rd, 1937. He married Anita Muniz on June 4, 1962, in Pecos, TX. He worked as a farmer/rancher for many years. His love for his family was unwavering, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was a great conversationalist it didn’t matter if he had just met you or if he knew you. He loved spending his time outdoors and going on walks, and he had a big, sweet tooth.

Cruz is preceded in death by his parents (Juan and Eduvijes Muniz), brothers (Juan Muniz, Roman Muniz Sr., Ricardo Muniz, Luis Muniz, and Feliciano Muniz), sisters (Anatalia Muniz and Ester Mendoza), daughters (Leticia Muniz and Michelle Muniz).

Cruz is survived by his spouse Anita Muniz, son (Hector Muniz), daughters Aidee Madrid (Ben Madrid), Jennifer Muniz (Jorge Ramirez), brother (Esequiel Muniz from Saragosa, TX), sister (Paula Fuentes from Hobbs, NM), 6 grandchildren Benjamin Madrid (Emily Maddox), Daniel Madrid, Emily Muniz (Tyler Dutchover), Madeline Vasquez (Jeremiah Vasquez), David Madrid, and Annalise Muniz, and 4 great-grandchildren Brayden, Liam, Nolan, and Mylah. 

The Pallbearers will be Benjamin Madrid, Daniel Madrid, Emily Muniz, David Madrid, Jorge Ramirez, and Jeremiah Vasquez. Honorary pallbearer Madeline Vasquez. 

Visitation will be held at Pecos Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 9 am to 9 pm with Rosary at 7 pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Saragosa, Texas, on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 10 am, with Interment following at the Saragosa Cemetery.
