Delma Lerma, 68, of Barstow, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.
A rosary will be held in at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel at 7:30 pm on Thursday, May 17, 2018.
Mass is scheduled for Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Rosa de Lima Catholic Church. There will be no committal service following the Mass.
Delma was born in Barstow to Dionisio Abila Garcia and Manuela Garcia on July 31, 1949. She went to school and graduated at Barstow High School. She was married to Henry Lerma on August 31, 1969 in Barstow. She was a paraprofessional Educator at Crockett Jr. High for 17 years. She was also an election judge for precinct one of Ward County, Barstow City Secretary, Notary Public, and was a Catholic, and in between all that she was one of God's Angels.
She was proceeded in death by her mother Manuelita Garcia. She is survived by her husband Henry Lerma, their four children Chris Lerma of Odessa, Jaime Lerma, Sonya Lerma, and Imelda Lerma Granado all from Midland; one brother, Lupe Garcia of Barstow; Two sisters, Tencha Contreras of Midland and Norma Garnto of Pecos; her father Dionisio (Nicho) Garcia; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
The Lerma Family would like to extend their sincere thanks for all the love and support to their friends and the community that have helped them fight this battle, both spiritually and monetary wise. They appreciate the people that were touched by Delma's heart, our friends at school, bosses at Napa Auto Parts, the doctors, nurses, hospitals, and organizations that were very loving, caring and helpful during their time with their loved one.
