Dennis Rayos 65, beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather passed peacefully at home after a lengthy illness on Sunday, August 8, 2021. He was a lifelong Pecos resident ans a Catholic. He was born September 4, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas to Celestino and Elva Rayos.
Dennis was a devoted father who loved all of his children, and attended Pecos High School, Diesel Mechanic and worked for Reeves County Road and Bridge until he retired on May 3, 2018. He loved spending time with his family and friends, loved cooking, he made sure no one went home hungry, and loved fishing. Dennis loved to brag he caught the biggest fish but if it got away at the last minute.Everyone who knew Dennis, knew what a comedian he was even in the most serious of situations, he would have to throw in a joke just to put a smile on people's faces. He will be forever dearly misses by all of his family and friends.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Celestino and Elva Rayos, brothers Celestino Rayos Jr., and Jose Florez.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 48 years Yolanda Rayos and his sons Dennis Rayos Jr., of Lubbock, Tx., Michael Rayos (Jessica) of Odessa, Tx., and Adrian Rayos of Odessa, Tx., his six beloved grandchildren and his brothers and sisters Angelina Salinas (Ruben) of Del Rio, Tx., Andres Rayos (Cy Benavides) of Odessa, TX., Barbara Atencio (Dan) of Pueblo Co., Irma Pena ofGlendale Az., Aldredo Florez (Eloisa) of Odessa, Tx., Melissa Rayos of Dearborn, Mi., Peter Rayos of Odessa, Tx., and Cheryl Carrillo of Odessa, Tx.
Visitation will be Monday August 16, 2021 from 9 am. to 9 pm. Rosary at 7 pm. at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel Masks are to be worn at all times. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 18, 2021 at 2 pm. at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church and mask are also required at Church. Interment will follow at Interment at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Acosta Sr., David Acosta Jr., Michael Rayos, Adrian Rayos, Zachary Rayos, Johnny Maldonado
