D.H. Brewster

August 27, 1926 — May 4, 2016

D.H. Brewster, 89, of Van Horn, Texas, passed away on May 4, 2016 in Van Horn.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 7th, 10 to 11:30 AM at 205 Maple Street Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday May 7th at the Maple Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Van Horn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home.
D.H. was born in Spur, Texas to Don and Marie Brewster on August 27, 1926. He went to school at Spur and Littlefield, Texas. He married Lena Ruth Willingham on August 19, 1946 in Gibtown, Texas. He attended a couple of semesters at Texas Tech University before being drafted into the Navy for World War II where he was an instructor for Dive Bombing Gear. He was stationed at San Diego, CA. When WW II was over, D.H. and Ruth bought land and moved to Van Horn. D.H. was called back to the Navy and stationed at Corpus Christi, Texas during the Korean Crisis where he taught Identification Friend or Foe which was a code to identify enemy aircraft.
D.H. was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Marie Brewster, two brothers, Ted and RL Brewster, Sisters, Iris New, Gladys Terry, Dorothy Fox, Bessie Phillips and two sons Delwyn and Rolan Brewster.
D.H. is survived by his wife, Lena Ruth. Son: Lane & wife Beth. Daughters: Becky Guidry & husband Glenn, Twyla Perry & husband Forrest; his daughter in law Susan Brewster. Grandchildren: Dan (Michele), Desirae, Justin, Richard (Cynthia), Jared (Kim), Cade (Holly), Tyler, Colin. Great-Grandchildren: Noie, Owen, Dylan, Cody, Kasen, Jazmin, Alize, Tristin, Sebastian.
Pallbearers will be Dan Brewster, Desirae Brewster, Jared Guidry, Cade Guidry, Tyler Brewster, Colin Brewster, Justin Bragg, and Richard Bragg.
Honorary Pallbearers: All that carry D.H. in their hearts
The family of D.H. wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Ed Garner, Culberson Hospital nurses, laboratory staff, office staff, ancillary staff, EMS, Susan Brewster, and Clinic staff.
