Diega Carrasco Hernandez passed away on February 21, 2024 in Pecos, Texas. Diega was born in Saragosa, Tx to Manuel and Cesaria Carrasco on December 31, 1930. She married Alfredo V. Hernandez and they lived in Pecos, Texas. She worked and was a devoted mother and wife.
She was a devoted Christian Catholic woman and was devoted to praying the Rosary every night. She prayed for everyone and when she finished, she prayed again. She was a grandma to everyone, everyone called her Grandma or Lala. She was famous for her “Lala beans” that were adored by Daniel her great grandson. He wanted her to move to the Dallas area and sell her beans. Every friend of her children and grandchildren called her Grandma. She prayed for all of them and remembered them by name. She loved everyone.
Diega is preceded in death by her husband Alfredo Hernandez, daughter Elva Orona, son Randy Hernandez, parents, Manuel and Cesaria Carrasco, sisters Elpidia Salvatierra, Maria Machuca, Felis Chavarria, Sara Hernandez and brother Luis Carrasco.
Diega is survived by her sons Sammy Hernandez and Daniel Hernandez and daughter Silvanna Hernandez. Brothers Roberto Carrasco and Carlos Carrasco, sisters Ofelia Rodriguez, Cesaria Alvarez and Ernestina Carrasco. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2024 at Pecos Funeral Home from 1pm to 9pm with a Rosary at 7pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Pecos Funeral Home at 10am followed by burial at Santa Rosa Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kane Dominguez, Josh Dominguez, Daniel Lujan, Joseph Orona, Anthony Lopez, and Christopher Orona.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob Hernandez, Amiyah Dominguez and Sarah Lopez
The family would like to give special thanks to Pecos Funeral Home, Word of Hope Pastor Lee Serrano, emergency services, and to everyone who blessed us with prayers, kind words, food, drinks, etc. and those who traveled to be with the family. God Bless you all!
