Donovan A. "Donny" Rodriguez, 51, of Pecos gained his wings on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. He was born and raised in Pecos, Texas on November 1, 1969 to Panfilo M. Rodriguez and Gloria Waight. He was a Catholic and a long-time oilfield worker.
Donny was the life of the party anywhere he went. He loved to have social gatherings and cook for everyone. He had a great sense of humor and would make everyone laugh. He loved to dance and lived every day to the fullest. He especially loved his kids and grandchildren very much. He had a beautiful smile and contagious laugh. He loved sharing silly posts on Facebook and posting his selfies. He will be deeply missed. He leaves behind wonderful memories for us to cherish forever.
Survivors include: His sons: Donovan A. Rodriguez Jr, of Pecos; Justin Lopez of Jal, New Mexico. Daughters: Samantha A. Rodriguez and Dalilah A. Rodriguez of Pecos.
His grandchildren: Eden Pepi, Aaron Jonah Rodriguez, Serenna Ortiz, Dominic Nunez, Jaxxon and Kollin Lopez. His mother, Gloria Waight of Midland. Brothers: Phillip A. Rodriguez of Amarillo; Walter Waight of Ft. Stockton. Sisters: Tootsie Videtto of Odessa; Cecilia Rodriguez of Monahans; Charlee Waight of Houston; Emily Waight of Phoenix, Arizona and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that Donny all loved equally.
He is preceded in death by his father Panfilo M. Rodriguez, paternal grandparents Ignacio and Socorro Rodriguez, maternal grandparents Agapito and Betty Montoya and his stepfather Charles E. Waight.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 9 am to 9 pm with rosary at 7 pm at Pecos Funeral Home. Mask are to be worn at all times.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 10 am at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church and mask are to be worn, with interment at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
