Doris Carol Tillery

Doris Carol Alexander Tillery, 92, of Pecos, Texas passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024. Doris was born February 15, 1931 in Pecos as the only child of Edna Boles Alexander and Albert Alton Alexander and was a resident of Pecos her entire life. She graduated from Pecos High School in 1949 and married George Earl Tillery on December 2, 1951. Over the years, Doris worked for GE Telephone, Fonville Jewelers and Dozier Tractor-Implement. She did volunteer work for Reeves County Hospital, West of the Pecos Museum, the Pecos Welcome Wagon and First Christian Church of Pecos where she and George were lifelong members. Doris was also an accomplished landscape artist and quilter. She was a member of the Pecos Palette Club.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband George as well as her parents.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Doug and Phyllis Tillery of Woodway, Texas, grandson Bradsen Tillery (Kara) of College Station, Texas and granddaughter Erin Tillery Hansen (Bradley) of San Jose, California as well as great-grandchildren Hayden, Benjamin, Emma, Ellie and Becca Tillery and Claire Hansen.

An interment service will be held at a later date at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Pecos or any charity of your choice.
