Edna June Painter, 89, of Pecos, TX passed away at her home Sunday, June 16, 2013. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 Wednesday morning, June 19, 2013 at Pecos Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos.
Edna was born November 29, 1923 to Roger Susie Crow in Tabor, TX. Edna was a homemaker many years before becoming the baker and then manager in the newly built Pecos School cafeterias. In 1975, Edna and her husband became owners of East 80 Grocery, retiring in 1985.
Edna especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a special way of making each grandchild and great grandchild feel like they were her favorite. Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Newton Fay Painter. She is survived by her two sons Ted Painter of Pecos, and Dan and Kathy Painter of El Paso, two daughters Cookie and Jack Canon of Pecos, and Kay Beauchamp of San Marcos, 12 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
