Our beloved Sister and Aunt Elizabeth Barrón Lopez, 66, of Pecos, Texas, died peacefully on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Focused Care at Pecos.
Elizabeth was born in Ciudad Juárez to Samuel and Isabel Barrón on December 19, 1954. She was a Christian. She was only 7 years old when she came to the United States to live the American dream. She attended Pecos High School and later became a Certified Nursing Assistant for 25 plus years. In her career as a CNA, she worked at Reeves County Hospital and later at Pecos Nursing Home, where she loved serving and worked hard to meet the needs of the elderly, she was always ready for that 2nd shift.
In 1992 she married Antonio Lopez whom she called “the love of her life.”
Though she did not have children of her own, in our family she considered all her nieces and nephews her own. She dressed up like Santa for Christmas, she was the Easter bunny for Easter, she was a clown for Halloween, and she dared not to miss one birthday party, which you got it, she came dressed as a birthday clown. She was full of life and it was her spiritual gift to always bring laughter and fun to everyone. On her down time she would do cross word puzzles, enjoyed playing loteria, and loved her scratch off lottery tickets. Elizabeth went by many nicknames, her family called her Licha, Tia Licha, her friends called her Liz, Lizzy Wizzy, and Liz Taylor just to name a few. She was well known, loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her beloved husband; Antonio Lopez, parents; Samuel and Isabel Barrón, brothers; Samuel Jr and Jesus Barrón and sisters; Elvia Barron and Sylvia Hernandez.
Left to cherish the memory of Elizabeth are sisters; Velia Barrón, Estela Barrón and Gloria (Eddy) Rodriguez, brothers; Jorge Arturo (Isabel) Barrón and Daniel (Mawie) Barrón, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Fito Hernandez, Miguel Jurado, Joaquin Mata, Jorge Arturo Barrón, Daniel Barrón, Barnabaz Rodriguez, Eduardo Fuentes Jr., Sal Nichols.
