Fidel Espinosa Mendoza, 67, was called to his heavenly home on November 7, 2023. He entered into his eternal rest in Houston, TX.

He was born on October 6, 1956, to Marcos and Georgia E. Mendoza in Pecos, TX. He was born the sixth of eleven siblings. A loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Fidel is survived by his loving wife, Margarita R. Mendoza, his beau􀆟ful daughter Matilda M. Mendoza; his siblings Teresa Talamantes, Maria Luisa Salcido, Marcos Mendoza Jr., Porfirio Mendoza, Irma Gutierrez, Diana M. Crawford, and Robert E. Mendoza, and many, many nieces, and nephews. Fidel is preceded in death by his parents Marcos Mendoza Sr. and Georgia Espinosa Mendoza and his siblings Velma Collaso, Alonzo Mendoza, and Benjamin Mendoza.
He was a lifelong, devoted Catholic, a member of the Knights of Columbus; a Charitable Order for Catholic laymen, an ACTS Retreatant, serving on Team; experiencing a deeper relationship with our Lord thru Adoration-Community-Theology - Service. He was also an active member of the Cursillo and Eucharis􀆟c Minister in San Angelo and El Paso, TX.


He was a lifelong sports enthusiast, a die-hard Cowboys Fan, along with Texas Longhorns, Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers. He even gave a “Big Thumbs Up” to the Texas Rangers for winning the World Series. An Avid Music Lover, he enjoyed different eras and genres favoring Tejano ar􀆟sts. He was a member of the Pecos Eagle Band all through high school playing the Tenor Saxophone. He atended over 200 concerts throughout Texas.


On June 6, 1998, he married his loving wife Margarita Rodriguez in El Paso, TX and they together had their lovely daughter, Ma􀆟lda Marguerite Mendoza.
Fidel started his lifelong career with the telephone telecommunica􀆟on company in Pecos, Tx, relocated to Andrews, Tx and re􀆟red with Verizon Telecommunica􀆟ons in 2014 in San Angelo, TX.


He enjoyed gardening, grilling, classic cars and spending 􀆟me with family and friends


Fidel will be remembered for his infec􀆟ous humor and laughter, his faith, and the love he shared with his family and friends.


Services to celebrate the life of Fidel will be held in Pecos, TX. Visita􀆟on is scheduled for November 20, 2023, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm with a rosary service, at 7:00 pm. Fidel’s funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on November 21, 2023, at Santa Rosa de Lima in Pecos, TX, burial to follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
