Frank M. Orona

Frank Madrid Orona, 78, of Pecos, TX, passed peacefully away on June 21, 2024, in his home.

Frank was born on May 11, 1946, to Susano V. & Juanita M. Orona in Pecos, TX. Frank worked many years with Rowan Drilling Company and retired from the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah Independent School District later in life.

In 1964, Frank met Susie Juarez in Pecos, TX. Frank and Susie married October 21, 1965. Frank and Susie went on to have three children: Frank Orona Jr., Wanda O. Mora, & Roger J. Orona.

In 2022, Frank retired and spent his time gambling, watching westerns, going to the lake, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Frank was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Virginia Bejarano, Elva Bryant, & Eva Orona and brothers Vivian Orona & Rudy Orona.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Orona; his son, Frank Orona Jr. from Carlsbad, NM; his daughter, Wanda O. Mora and husband Peter Mora from Buchanan Dam, TX; his son, Roger J. Orona and wife Brenda Orona from Odessa, TX; his sisters Emma Galvan & Margie Fricker; his brothers Johnny Orona and Adam Orona; his grandchildren Amanda Mora, Matthew Mora & wife Hannah Mora, Elyssa Orona Garcia & husband Sean Garcia, and Alexandria Orona; and great-grandchildren Marlow Rae Mora and Silas Alexander Mora.

Pallbearers will be Roger Orona, Trey Urquidez, Ismael Hinojos, Matthew Mora, Peter Mora, and Sean Garcia

Visitation will be held for Frank on Monday, June 24th 2024 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm at Pecos Funeral Home. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 At Saint Catherine De Siena Catholic Church at 10:00am, Internment will follow the mass at Mount Evergreen Cemetery.
