Genaro Luis Tellez was born in El Paso, Texas to Genaro and Celia Tellez. He married Laura Vargas in El Paso, Texas. Genaro and Laura were the owners of the popular Thriftway Grocery store. He was also the recipient of the Hidden Hero award and the Citizen of the Year award presented by the Pecos Chamber of Commerce.
Genaro Luis Tellez was one of a dying breed. Many words can be used to describe this honorable man like generous, compassionate, forgiving, selfless but most important are devoted husband and loving father. This scripture best describes our father. Blessed is the man who fears The Lord, who finds great delight in his commands. His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious, compassionate and righteous man. Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice. Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever. Psalm 112:1-6
