German Alvarez, of Pecos passed away on December 31, 2013 in Pecos Texas
Rosary will be on Thursday at 7:30pm at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday January 3, 2014 at Saint Catherine Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Fabian Marquez. Burial will follow at Mt Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home
German was born in Shafter, Texas to Crespin and Rita Alvarez on March 1, 1922. He married Elidia Alvarez on December 24, 1942 in Presidio, Texas. He worked in farming and went on to retire from Pennzoil Company. He was a Navy veteran. German was a Catholic.
German is preceded in death by his wife Elidia Alvarez, son Guadalupe Alvarez and grandson Jonathan Matta.
German is survived by sons Rojelio, Orlando and Maribel, daughters Corina and James Brownlee all of Pecos and Melda and Tad Brown of Odessa. Grandchildren: Tim Alvarez, Odis Allen, Austin Alvarez, Chloe Brown, Mysela Alvarez and Miranda Alvarez. Also surviving are brothers Manuel Alvarez, Eulalia Gonzalez, Alicia Bitolas all of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Natividad Alvarez of Barstow.
Pallbearers will be: Tim Alvarez, Jesse Alvarez, Rolando Gonzalez, Orlando Florez, Jon Venegas, and Alvaro Venegas.
