Geronimo Olivas 80 of Pecos passed away Wednesday April 28, 2020 at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland. He was born July 24, 1939 in Cuchillo Parado, Chihuahua Mexico to Ildefonso ‘Poncho’ and Nicolasa Juarez Olivas. He was a Catholic Christian and retired truck driver. He in his younger years was a jockey ‘Jinete’, worked in the agriculture fields for a good part of his life. He enjoyed road trips especially going to Mexico and bringing back all types of merchandise to sell. He had an amazing memory he would remember everything and anyone. He loved his grandchildren very dearly he will be missed. He is preceded in death y his parents, wife Liria S Olivas, sister Angela Gonzales and brother Herminio Olivas. Geronimo is survived by his sons Mario Olivas and wife Luzema of Pecos, Lewis Martinez of Austin, grandson Mario Olivas Jr. of Pecos and granddaughter Lydia Olivas of Pecos, sisters Demencia Zubia of Presidio, Santos Salgado and husband Luis of Odessa, and Zulema Ramos and husband Otelio of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mx. Brothers Lupe Olivas and wife Lydia, Pedro Olivas and wife Manuela, and Eldifonso ‘Poncho’ Olivas and wife Belinda all of Odessa. Geronimo also leaves to cherish his memory several nieces and nephews. Due to the ongoing standards set by the Governor’s office for the COVID-19, Visitation is set for Monday May 4, 2020 from 9am-4pm. Only 25 persons are allowed in the chapel at Pecos Funeral Home. Graveside services are set for 10am Tuesday May 5, 2020 at Mount Evergreen cemetery with Father Jose Dela Cruz officiating. Please visit us at www.pecosfunerlhome.com
