Gilberto Barragan Sr

Gilberto Barragan Sr, 90 of Pecos, Tx, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 8, 2022 in Pecos, Tx. Gilberto was born in El Comedor to Pedro and Liberta Barragan on November 30, 1932. Gilberto went to school in El Comedor. He married the love of his life Guadalupe V. Barragan from San Antonio Del Bravo on December 25, 1956 in Los Fresnos, they were married for 57 years. Gilberto was a very loving, humble, and respectful man always welcoming every one that came across him with his beautiful smile and open arms. Gilberto was always helping anyone that needed his help. Gilberto loved working with cattle, farming, ranching, and especially spending time with his family, and friends.

Gilberto is preceded in death by his spouse Guadalupe V. Barragan, parents Pedro and Liberta Barragan, brothers Pedro, Manuel and Arturo Barragan, sister Delia Garcia.

Gilberto is survived by his children Pedro (Maria) Barragan of Pecos, Tx, Rosa (Juan) Tarango of Van Horn, Tx, Sonia (Alejandro) Mendoza of Wickett, Tx, Gilberto Barragan of Pecos, Tx, Fabio (Anita) Barragan of Pecos, Tx, Javier (Raquel) Barragan of Pecos, Tx, Emma (Valente Zea) Barragan of Pecos, Tx, Omar (Brenda) Barragan of Pecos, Tx, Lorina (Benjamin Montano) Barragan of Pecos, Tx, and Julian Barragan of Pecos, Tx, 32 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchild and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Julian Barragan, Omar Barragan Jr., Javier Barragan Jr, Francisco Lujan Jr., Michael Barragan, Alejandro Mendoza Jr., Israel Tarango, Leonard Barragan and Honorary Pallbearer Fabio Barragan Jr.

Visitations will be at Pecos Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 9 am to 9 pm and Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 9 am to 9 pm with Rosary at 7 pm.

Funeral Mass will be on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 10 am at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church, Interment will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, Tx.
