Gloria Ann Bowers, a cherished Mother, Grandmother and Sister, was gently called to her eternal resting place on March 16, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on July 7, 1943, in Abilene, Texas, Gloria filled her world with love and kindness as the daughter of Albert and Beryle Lockett.
She is lovingly remembered by her family as a guiding light, even as she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Bowers; her devoted parents, Albert and Beryle Lockett; her daughter, Traci Bowers; and her siblings, Bobby Lockett and Betty Cotton.
Gloria’s spirit lives on in her surviving family—her son, Lance Bowers, and wife, Nellie; her daughter, Michele Galindo, and husband, Jimmy; and her sisters, Barbara Poer and Mary Barfield, Eight Grandkids and Seven Great Grandkids. They will forever cherish her memories, from the warmth of her laughter to her nurturing heart.
A passionate gardener, Gloria found joy in tending to her plants and taking care of her family. She created a beautiful sanctuary, where family gatherings were vibrant and filled with love. Her grandchildren were a particular delight, and her heart swelled with happiness whenever they were around. Gloria also had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs, and her gentle nature made her a beloved friend to many.
After dedicating over 20 years to the Pecos Barstow Independent School District, Gloria retired, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and commitment to education.
The family invites all who knew and loved Gloria to come together for a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Pecos Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am, officiated by her grandson, Zachary Bowers, and Uncle Woody Woodard.
In every heart she touched and every life she enriched, Gloria’s memory will forever remain—a testament to the love she freely gave and the lives she made brighter.
