Gloria Woods

Gloria Ann Woods, "Nana", age 77, with great dignity garnered her wings on December 30, 2015.

Gloria was born January 25, 1938 in Van Horn, Texas to Dr. John P. and Helen Ann Wright. She attended Van Horn high school where she was a member of the basketball team that played in the state tournament.

Gloria married her lifelong love, Don Woods on October 31, 1952 in the First Presbyterian Church in Alpine, Texas. To this Union were born four children. She was employed by Pecos Barstow Toyah Independent school district where she retired after 30 years of service.

She was known as Gloria to some, more recently she earned the title Doe Doe, but everyone else called her Nana. Nana was truly blessed. She enjoyed spending her days with her grandkids and great grandkids who were her pride and joy. Nana was the sweetest most kind loving person you would encounter. Nana was a member of the United Methodist Church where she faithfully served the Lord. She truly was a beautiful soul.

Gloria was preceded in death by her mother and father of Van Horn, her husband Don Woods, and two sons Donald Craig Woods and David Warren Woods all of Pecos.

Survivors include one son, Clay Woods of Ft. Davis, one daughter, Becky Wein of Pecos, grandson Craig Wein of Dallas, granddaughter Rebecca, spouse Jason and great granddaughter Maddie Halliburton of San Antonio, granddaughter Sara Wein of Pecos, granddaughter Michelle, spouse Ryan and three great grandsons Jordan, Landon and Kason Wheeler of Midland, grandson Michael, spouse Chasity, two great granddaughters Taylor and Tinley and great grandson Trey Wein of Lubbock.

Services:
A celebration of life will be held Monday January 4, 2016 at 1pm at the Pecos Funeral Home, 607 W. 3rd St. Pecos, Texas, with Kevin Zimdars officiating services entrusted to Pecos Funeral Home with burial at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church or West Texas Rehab.
