Hortencia Rivas

Tencha Herrera Rivas, age 67, of Pecos, passed away on Monday August 02, 2021. Tencha was born in Pecos, Texas to Francisco and Francisca Herrera. She was married to Felix Rivas of Moody, Texas. She worked for Globe Production Services as an office administrator for 16 years. She was a great person who added so much to every life she had touched. She was a devout Catholic with an unending faith in God.

Tencha was preceded in death by her father Francisco Herrera and her beloved brother Manuel Herrera.

Tencha is survived by her husband Felix Rivas of Moody, Texas. Daughter's Joann Acosta and her husband Ramon Cardenas. Jeanette Acosta and her husband Raul Salgado. Twin Son's Jaime Acosta and his wife Kristi Lara Acosta. Jacob Acosta and Brenda Natividad. Twin sister Irma Martinez and husband Clyde. Ludivina Valencia and husband Louie. Aida D Contreras. Tencha had 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Aaron Villescas, David Villescas, Ariel Acosta, Aiden Acosta, Angel Achondo, Jason Martinez, Dominic Martinez, Louis Valencia.

Tencha loved to take road trips and go shopping with her Twin sister Irma, they were inseparable. She loved buying shoes and collecting purses. One of her favorite pastimes was shopping online. Her absolute favorite food was Chinese. She left behind two of her beloved dogs named Buddy and Cowboy. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with her Daughters and Son's. Her children were her world. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of the family. Tencha moved back to Pecos to care for her elderly mother until God called her home. Tencha will be remembered as a selfless, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and wife who always had a smile, even when times were tough.

Visitation will be at Pecos Funeral Home on Wednesday August 11, 2021. A private visitation for immediate family will be from 9am-10am. Visitation for everyone will start at 10am- with Rosary starting at 7pm-9pm. Masks must be worn at all times.

Funeral Services will be held at 10am, Thursday August 12, 2021 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church. Masks must be worn at all times per church request. Viewing on Thursday will be for immediate family only. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetary. Reception gathering will be announced by the family at the end of the service.

The family of Tencha would like to express their heartfelt thanks to family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time. A special thank you to everyone at Globe Production Services for their kindness and thoughtfulness, it was a great comfort to all of the family. The family is very humbled and grateful.
