Ione Cowart

Ione Collins Cowart, 93, of Pecos passed away on June 23, 2014 at Reeves County Hospital in Pecos.
Visitation will be 57pm, Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Pecos Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at First Baptist Church on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 10:00am.
Ione Cowart was born in Houston, Texas, to Eric Leroy Collins and Maudie Mae Hill. Ione completed business school then married Lewis Edward Cowart on December 10, 1942, in Mineral Wells. She lived in Pecos since 1949. She was a homemaker and retired from PBT ISD where she worked as a tax clerk for 14 years.
Ione was a member of First Baptist Church since 1949 where she taught Sunday School in the 1950s, was Sunday School secretary, and secretary to adult Sunday School.
Ione is preceded in death by her husband Lewis Cowart, her parents, Eric and Maudie Collins, a sister, Hazel Parker, and grandbabies Jayson Michael and Baby Girl King.
Ione is survived by her children, Michael Cowart and wife Evalyn, Linda Cowart, and Carol Bagley and husband Bob Bagley. She is survived by four grandchildren, Cheryl Cowart, Kellee Bagley, Adrienne Bagley, and Rusty King.
Donations may be made to American Heart Association or First Baptist Church.
