Isabel "Chavela" Acosta Jurado, 75 of Pecos passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.
Rosary will be held on Monday May 18, 2015 at 7:30 PM at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church with Father Fabian Marquez officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pecos Funeral Home.
Isabel was born on July 9, 1939 in Van Horn, Texas to Roberto and Lola Acosta. Isabel was a lifelong resident of Pecos and a dedicated Catholic. Isabel was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She always put others first before herself.
Isabel was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Jurado, daughter, Margaret Staton, brother, Robert Acosta.
Isabel is survived by her two sons, Larry Jurado of Santa Fe, NM, and Rudy Jurado of Pecos, and one daughter Patsy Buchanan of Saco, ME. Isabel is also survived by three brothers Henry Acosta of Bakersfield, CA, Jesse Acosta and Simon Acosta both of Pecos, TX; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
