James Darwin Petty

James Darwin Petty, age 58 of Pecos, Texas, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Pecos, Texas. James was born in Pecos, Texas to Roy and Sara Peters on August 31, 1958. He attended Pecos schools. He married Wendy Dunivan, the love of his life, on September 20, 2000 in Pecos, Texas. He worked as a carpenter and was self employed for 50 years.

James loved to work with his hands and had a passion for creating projects with his tools. He loved his dogs: Misty, Maggie and Madison. He loved listening to music and motorcycles and was an avid Trechy and was a friend to anyone who met him. His unique sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Sara Peters, 2 sisters: Theresa Peters and Deanna Kirk and one grand-daughter, Alice Josie Bernal (forever 8).

James is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Petty, three children: Rebecca Dunivan (Will Abrahamson), Amanda Bernal (Andrew Bernal) and Saige Laughing Crow and four grandchildren: Atlas, August, Wyatt and Archer. One brother and sister also survive: Eddie Peters and Yvonne Robinson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
