Jesus "Chuy" Becerra opened his eyes to eternal glory on Saturday, February 27, 2016 in Van Horn, Texas surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness, he was 71.
Chuy was born on August 21, 1944 in Ejido Emilio Carranza, Mexico to Candelario and Luz Becerra. Chuy married Manuela U. Becerra in which they had four wonderful children together.
Chuy was a devoted father, son, grandfather, friend and employee. Chuy was a very kind hearted man, and only wanted the very best for his family. So much, that Chuy never missed a day of work so he could provide only the best for his family. In 2003 Chuy accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. His faith was seen by all who knew and loved Chuy. Chuy was a member of Highway 54 Church of Christ in Van Horn, Texas.
Visitation for Chuy will on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Highway 54 Church of Christ in Van Horn, Texas. Funeral Service for Chuy will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Highway 54 Church of Christ with Brother Juan Palacios officiating. Burial followed at Van Horn Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are: Abelito Becerra, Michael Sanchez, Arturito Baeza, Jr., Matthew Ramirez, Alex Gonzalez and Santiago Padilla.
Honorary pallbearers are: Alyssa Mayeux, Kimberly Ramirez, Sonja Becerra, Angelica Baeza and Andrew Baeza.
Chuy is preceded in death by his father Candelario Becerra.
Surviving Chuy is his wife Manuela U. Becerra of Van Horn; his mother Luz Becerra of Marfa; his son Abel and wife Terry Becerra of Van Horn, Jesus Becerra, Jr. and his wife Greta Cervera of Carlsbad, New Mexico; his daughters Gracie Baeza and husband Arturo of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Nina Ramirez and husband Jesus of Van Horn; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren; his brothers Eliseo Becerra and wife Lupe of Hagerman, New Mexico, Manuel Becerra and wife Nelly of Fabens, Pilar Becerra and wife Christina of Artesia, New Mexico; his sisters Maria Baeza and husband Efren of Artesia, New Mexico, Socorro Becerra of Marfa, Dora Padilla and husband Santiago of Artesia, New Mexico and Mariana Gabaldon and husband Johnny of Marfa.
