Jesus Manuel "Shumo" Lara

Jesus Manuel "Shumo" Lara, 69, of Pecos, Tx. passed away in Odessa, Tx on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Shumo was born on May 9, 1955 to Santiago Lara and Maria Espinosa Lara in Eloy, Arizona.  Shumo was a big Dallas Cowboy fan, he attended Pecos High School were he graduated. Shumo loved music, spending time with his family and friends, loved hearing music of Elvis Presley, watching Western Movies. Shumo loved helping family and friends when they needed help. 

Jesus Manuel "Shumo" Lara was preceded in death by his parents Santiago and Maria E. Lara, brother Jimmy Lara.

Jesus Manuel "Shumo" Lara is survived by his brothers; Ysabel Lara (Alice), Salvador Lara, Danny Lara, and Timothy Lara, sisters; Monse Ybarra (Robert), Teresa Carreon (Rey), Molly De La Cruz (Ricardo), and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers will be; Anthony Hernandez, Jay Lara, Dominyck Lara, Brian Lara, Heather Lara, and Jeremy Lara.

Visitation will be held at Pecos Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 9 am to 9 pm with a Prayers Service at 7 pm.

Funeral Service will held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 11 am at the West Park Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Rey Carreon with Interment following at the Santa Rosa Cemetery.
