Jesus Terrazas

Jesus “Chuy” Terrazas, 90 years old of Pecos passed away on August 17, 2019 in Pecos.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 9:00 PM on Wednesday August 21, 2019 at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.

Rosary will start at 7:30 pm Wednesday August 21st at the Pecos Funeral Home.

Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday August 22nd at Santa Rosa Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery.

Jesus was born in Escalon Chihuahua Mexico to Angel and Jacinta Terrazas.  He married Lorenza Burrola and had one son Johnny Terrazas.  Jesus worked as a farmer, machinist and a welder most of his life and was co‐owner of the Terrazas Restaurant in Pecos.  He worked and built most of the box seating area at the Buck Jackson arena.  He was honored as the Grand Marshal of The West of Pecos Rodeo Parade.  He was a member of the Pecos La Junta Rifle Club.

He was a loving husband of 63 years, father and great grandfather.   He never met a stranger.  He was known as “Chuy” to his friends and Grandpa to many.

He is preceded in death by his parents Angel and Jacinta Terrazas and great grandson Levi Terrazas.

He is survived by his wife Lorenza Terrazas, son Johnny Terrazas (wife Virginia) of Pecos; grandchildren are Kristopher Terrazas of Pecos ; Daniel Terrazas (wife Delia) of Carrolton; Cassandra Garcia (husband Conrad) of Hobbs; John Terrazas (wife Julie) of Odessa and 13 Great Grandchildren Kristopher, Arriana and Sofia Terrazas, Leylah, MaKenzie and Conrad Garcia, Braden, Levi and Riley Terrazas, Kaylee Palomino, Jazzy, Bradynn and Madi Licon.  He is also survived by his siblings Maria Terrazas Lucero;

Manuel Terrazas, Angel Terrazas, Beatriz Terrazas Ibarra, Anita Terrazas; Lourdes Terrazas and Beto Terrazas.
