Joaquina Fuentez

Joaquina Natividad Fuentez, 97, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on September 9, 2021.

Joaquina was born in Barstow, TX to Manuel and Belen Natividad on July 14, 1924. She married Daniel C. Fuentez Sr. on November 26, 1940 in La Calera, TX. She worked as a housekeeper for Holiday Inn for four years. Joaquina was one of the oldest Guadalupana who faithfully served at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church.

Joaquina Fuentez is preceded in death by both parents, Manuel and Belen Natividad; husband, Daniel C. Fuentez Sr.; her five sons, David, Santiago, Ray, Rodolfo and the Very Rev. Trinidad Fuentez; one grandchild, and one great grandchild.

Survivors include eight sons, Agustin Fuentez, (Gloria) of Ft. Worth, Manual Fuentez, (Lavita) of Lubbock, Daniel Jr. (Hilda), Roy, Christopher and Armando Fuentez of Pecos, Harvey and Joshua Fuentez of Midland; five daughters, Theresa Hemmila, (Bill) and Maria Fuentez, (David Kolberson) of El Paso, Raquel Contreras of Pecos, Martha Griffin, (Duane) of Midland, and Jacquelin Levario of Austin. Joaquina had 22 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Justin Martinez, Joshua Fuentez Sr., Javier Contreras Jr., Trinity Griffin, Joshua Fuentez Jr., and Dominic Fuentez.

Visitation will be Tuesday September 14 from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM with Rosary at 7:00 PM at Pecos Funeral Home, Pecos, TX. Mask are to be used at all times.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday September 15, 2021 at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church, Pecos, TX with the Rev. Mariano Lopez and Rev. Beto Lopez officiating. Mask are to be used at all times.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery; Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.
