John Moore Jr.

John Harvey "Johnny" Moore Jr., of Bloomfield, New Mexico, went home to his Heavenly Father on December 18, 2020, at the age old 73. He was born September 25, 1947 in Pecos, Texas to Harvey and Martha Jones Moore. He was the eldest of five children. He graduated from Balmorhea High School in 1966. Johnny was a legend in the arena, on the basketball court, and football field. Johnny married the love of his life, Donna (Fowler) Moore. Their 53 year marriage produced one daughter, Kristi. Johnny was a lover of life and lived every moment to the fullest. He loved God, nature, and more than anything, his family, especially "His Girl." He will forever be remembered for his infectious laugh, incredible stories, and heart of pure Gold.

Johnny loved working the land and cattle as a rancher and outdoorsman. He was a true West Texas Cowboy. In addition to working for the Texas Department of Transportation, Johnny spent many years working in the West Texas Oilfields, eventually landing him in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado for the remainder of his years. He enjoyed the beautiful sights the Colorado Mountains offered.

Johnny is preceded in death by his Parents; John Harvey Moore and Martha Jones Moore, Brothers; Charles Moore and Joseph Moore, Sister; Peggy Moore.

Johnny is survived by his Wife; Donna Moore, Daughter; Kristi Velasquez and husband Gerald of Bloomfield, New Mexico, Sister; Janet Sessom and husband Roger of Lawton, Oklahoma, his Granddaughter; Erika Edwards and husband James of Minco, Oklahoma. Great-Granddaughter; Briley and Korley Edwards, and Several nieces and nephews.

Private family mass will be Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Christ the King Catholic Church  officiated by Father Timothy Hayter at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at 11:00 am. at the Balmorhea Cemetery in Balmorhea, Texas.

Masks, and social distancing are required at all times at the Service and Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Pecos Funeral Home.
