John Furman Teague of Pecos passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the age of 77. He was born January 14, 1944 at Camp Hospital in Pecos to William W. (Bill) and Charlcie Grayum Teague. He graduated from Pecos High School in 1962. He attended Abilene Christian College. John married Diane Waggoner of Nacogdoches. They were married for 53 years.
John worked as a gas plant operator for many years in the Oil and Gas Industry. He was also a realtor and partner with his sister Valera Gatewood at Acme Realty Co, until he became ill and had to retire in 2012. John was a faithful member of the 4th and Bois D'Arc Church of Christ. Serving as an elder for 27 years his illness.
John is survived by his wife Diane of the home, son Trevor (Cathy) and children Dereck, Clay and Mac Teague of Pecos, daughter Darla Teague of San Angelo, son Bill (Amber) and children Alexandra and Grant of Big Spring. Great granddaughters Swayzi and Teali-klay of Lubbock. His sister Valera Gatewood of Pecos, nephews David Walters of Nacogdoches, nieces Charlcie Gatewood of Pecos, Retta (Nolan) Blount of Laveen, Az., and several other loving family members.
He was preceded by his parents Bill and Charlcie Teague, brother W.C. (Bill) Teague, sister Virginia Walters (Gorden), brother-in-law Robert Gatewood, and niece Amy Fredrickson.
Services are Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm. at the 4th and Bois D'arc Church of Christ. Interment will follow after the service at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
Pall bearers are: Dereck Teague, Clay Teague, Mac Teague, David Walters, Clay Taylor and Brad Gholson
