Jose H. " Don Mere " Garcia

Jose H. "Don Mere" Garcia, 85, of Pecos, Tx. passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024 in Midland, Tx. 

Jose was born in Rodeo Durango, MX. to Jose H. Garcia and Remedio Ramos Garcia on April 13, 1939. Jose attended school in Mexico, he later married Nora Renteria Garcia in Pecos, Tx. where they made there home. Jose was a ranch foreman, worked for Bill Weinacht for many years.  Jose was a Catholic and a Life time Pecos resident.  Jose loved spending time with his grandchildren that were the love of his life.

Jose H. "Don Mere" was preceded in death by his Wife Nora Renteria Garcia, parents Jose H. Garcia and Remedio Ramos Garcia, brothers Claudio Garcia, Carmelo Garcia, and Filimon Garcia.

Jose H. "Don Mere" Garcia is survived by his daughters; Cathy Ortega (George) of Pecos, Tx., Maria Vasquez ( Manuel) of Fort Stockton, Ramona Serrano (Ramon) of Nebraska, Andrea De La Cruz (Chon) of Wyoming, Maria Dolores Garcia ( Gardiel) of Durango, Mexico, sons; Hermenegildo Garcia ( Ermelinda) of Pecos, Tx., Jose Astencion Garcia (Josephina) of Pecos, Tx., Juan De Dios Garcia of Durango, Mexico, Alfredo Garcia of Durango, Mexico,  Brother Jesus Garcia and Sister Felipa Garcia. 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be George Ortega III, Joshua Ortega, Jose Garcia, Ryan Garcia, Gilberto Rodriguez and George Ortega Jr.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 9 am to 9 pm at Pecos Funeral Home, with Rosary at 7 pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at St Catherine's Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 10 am, with Interment following at Greenwood Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.
