Juanita R Lara 86 of Pecos, Texas passed away Sunday August 23, 2020 at the White Sands Nursing Home. She was born March 29, 1934 in Toyahvale, Texas to Eulogio and Juana Reda Lara. She was a Christian Catholic and a homemaker. Mom loved playing Bingo, reading, and doing her crossword puzzles. She loved her Spanish Novelas it did not matter what time of day they would show. She was funny, happy going and had an infectious laugh to her. In her latter part of life, she loved looking out her window and door as people or things would go by. But most of all she loved her children and grandchildren thus earning the nickname Pecos Grandma from her grandchildren. Mom you will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Rosa Huertas, sons Joe and Mile Cortez and Gilbert and Ricky Lara, sisters Ramona Vasquez and Jesusita Chavez, and brothers Tino and Felis Lara.
She is survived by daughters Marylou Ramirez and husband Jaime, and Maria Elena Lara all of Midland, sons Tony Lara and wife Judy of Gardendale, and Fred Lara of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Juanita also leaves to cherish her memory 17 grandchildren 28 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren,
Due to COVID-19 visitation is set for 40 persons only Thursday August 27, 2020 from 9am-4pm with a rosary at 2pm at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Six feet Social Distancing guidelines apply, and masks are required.
Graveside services are set for 10am Friday August 28, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery with Father Jose Dela Cruz officiating. Same guidelines apply at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alex Lara, Javier Marquez, Zach Foster, Ernest Lopez, Elijah Lopez and Daren Arenivas
