Karen June Redmon , age 73, of Toyah, Texas, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Odessa Regional Medical Center in Odessa, Texas.Karen is survived by her husband Patrick Redmon, of Toyah, Texas; sisters Lindy Gaines of Navasota, Texas and LaNita Bangeman of Cedar Creek,Texas; brothers Harley McCorcle of Gonzales, Texas, Felix Gaines, Dale Gaines of Cedar Creek, Texas, and Robert Gaines of Temple,Texas; her son Brandon Osborn (Amber), of Fort Worth,Texas; daughter Jaclyn Redmon of Seguin,Texas; daughter Sherry Barrientes (Gabby); Son Edy Redmon (Kathy); daughter Sabrina Redmon (Andrea); Son Joseph Redmon (Christi) and 12 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Betty Gaines and step father Jack Gaines, Father Jack McCorcle, a granddaughter and two nephews.Karen was born on August 4, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas,to parents Betty Gaines and Jack McCorcle. She obtained her teaching degree and was a lifetime educator. Throughout her career she taught special education, grades k-12, deaf education, AS Land college level.Karen was a great family woman and a loving mother.She married Patrick on June 27, 1987 and between them raised 6 children. Karen was a social,active woman who was deeply involved in the church and volunteered for the majority of her life.She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Camping, fishing, and spending time with family were among just a few of the things she loved. Her family and friends will always remember her as an outgoing, compassionate,and loving person. She was always ready to tell the stories of her youth, days of teaching,and share a laugh even through the hard times. A Memorial is scheduled for 3 pm on Saturday May 8,2021 at Toyah Baptist Church with a reception to follow at Toyah Community Center. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Karen’s life.
