Kenneth “Rusty” Wayne Wheeler, 77, of Odessa, passed away peacefully on October 1st in his home in Odessa, Texas. Kenneth was born in Fort Stockton to Jeanne M. Fishel and Kenneth Carl Wheeler on September 12, 1946. He graduated from Ysleta High in El Paso. He married Nancy Hope Bentley of Pecos on June 6, 2003 in Austin, Texas. He was a Veteran of The Vietnam War and served as a helicopter and fixed wing pilot in the United States Army from 1966 to 1971 and was awarded multiple Purple Hearts and The Silver Star. He and his wife Nancy were involved in many bible studies of the Jewish Faith.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife Nancy and his son Clarke Wheeler
Kenneth is survived by his son Russell Lynn Jones II, his daughters Kara W. Meyers and Christina W. Dalton, his sisters Anna Kay Kent and Jeanne Rogers and his brother in law Steven Rogers, his grand children Marcus Meyers, Katurah Meyers, Madison Dalton, and Haven Asher Jones.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm on October 12, 2023 at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery with Rabbi Thomas Hays officiating. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.

A memorial celebration will also be held on October 12th at 6pm at The Copper Rose Building, 415 N. Grant, Odessa Tx.
