Kenneth Wayne Winkles, Sr., 86, of Pecos, passed away on July 7, 2022, in Pecos.
Kenneth was born in Alvord, TX to J.T. and Nora Winkles on June 8, 1936. He married Carolyn Winkles on May 23, 1954, in Brownfield, TX. He co-founded Winkles Trucks with Carolyn in 1954 and operated the trucking company until 2005. He was involved in the Pecos Christian Home and the North Temple Food Bank for many many years. He also received the Hidden Hero Award from the Pecos Chamber of Commerce in 2010.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn of 62 years, a brother Odell Winkles and both parents.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Kenneth Winkles Jr and wife Teresa of Pecos and Keven Winkles and wife, Krystal of San Antonio. Grandchildren K.W. Winkles and Kyle Winkles, both of Houston TX, Kendra Henderson of Chandler TX, Deven Winkles of Pflugerville, TX and Danielle Winkles of San Antonio.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the North Temple Baptist Church, 300 N. Walnut, in Pecos, TX.
Memorials may be given to the West Texas Food Bank of Odessa in his memory.
