Lynn Joyce, a quiet soul with a fierce independence, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. in Pecos, Texas. She was 79 years old.
Born on December 11, 1945, in Palm Springs, CA as Linda (Lynn) lived life on her own terms-simple, frugal, and deeply connected to the land she called home. She embraced solitude, finding comfort in the rhythm of a life lived off the grid, surrounded by the peace of nature and the quiet strength of self-reliance.
A true minimalist long before it became a trend, Lynn had a rare gift for making do with what she had. Her uncanny ability to create something from nothing was more than a skill-it was a way of life. Whether repurposing old items, harvesting from her garden, or fixing things most would throw away, she lived with intention, grace, and an unshakable sense of purpose.
Though reclusive by nature, those fortunate enough to know Lynn understood the depth of her character. She was wise, witty in her own quiet way, and carried a calm presence that spoke louder than words ever could. Her life was a gentle reminder that joy doesn't come from things, but from living in tune with one's values.
She is survived by her son Scott (Shauna) Heise, daughter Carol Crump, grandchildren James (Jennifer) Crump, Nathan Crump, Mathew Crump, Christian Heise, Jordan Heise and great grandchildren Wheeler Crump, Brodee Crump, Noah Crump, Jaxon Crump, Addyson Crump, Emery Crump, who honor her life and the lessons she left behind.
A private memorial will be held in her honor. In keeping with her wishes, it will be simple, heartfelt, and close to home-just the way she would have wanted.
Lynn Joyce may have lived quietly, but her life speaks volumes. She will be remembered for her strength, her simplicity, and her unwavering sense of self.
"To live simply is to live fully."
