Lois Vasquez

Lois M Vasquez, 93, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on July 2, 2023 in Odessa, Texas.

Lois Vasquez was born in Pecos to Frank and Maria Matta on October 27, 1929. She went to school at Balmorhea High School and was valedictorian of her class. She married George B. Vasquez on December 25, 1950. She worked at Vasquez Home Furnishing, formerly Terrazas Furniture, until retirement in 1999. She was involved in the Catholic Daughters at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, where she also sang in the choir and taught religious education.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Deacon George Vasquez and her son Thomas Allan Vasquez.

Lois is survived by her sister Theresa Ramirez and brother Frank Matta as well her sons David Vasquez, Eddie Vasquez, and Mickey Vasquez and her daughters Suzi Brizzi and Milissa Aranda. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Issac Vasquez, Greg Brizzi, Aaron Aranda, Aaric Aranda, Miguel Vasquez, and Derek Brooks.

Visitation will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 7, 2023 followed by the Rosary at 7:00 at Pecos Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to Pecos Funeral Home.
