Manuela Hernandez

Manuela Hernandez, 72, beloved Mother, passed away on September 15, 2020. She entered this world on June 19, 1948 in Saragoza, TX, born to Francisco and Maria (Carrasco) Ortega. She is survived by her sons; Danny (Josie) Hernandez, Leonel Ramon (Laura Jen) Martinez, boyfriend; Bernando Anchando, 7 grandchildren, 1 and a half great grandchildren.

Manuela enjoyed Manuela “Mami” liked cooking. Her # 1 dishes were chicken casserole and red enchiladas. She also had a specialty that she inherited from her mother Maria making bischochos. She also spent her younger years selling snow cones (raspas) and ice cream. Mami liked sewing and making blankets. Mami had a love for music “Te Vas Angel Mio” was her favorite song. Manuela always enjoyed hanging out with her sister Gloria and going to visit her. She loved her son’s Danny “Mi Negro” and Leonel “ Mi Leon”.  Manuela would always have everyone’s phone number and birthdays. She had a special love for her son’s, grandchildren, sisters, nephews, and nieces. She liked getting pranked phone calls from her niece Delores.

Visitation will be Sunday September 20, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Pecos Funeral Home. Graveside service will be on Monday September 21, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the Saragoza Cemetery in Saragoza, Texas.

Due to COVID19 limitations, the visitation is limited to 40 members of the immediate family only. At the graveside services, there are no limitations to friends and family, however masks are required if you cannot maintain social distancing.
