Marcos J. Contreras, 78, of Pecos TX, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 in Fort Worth
TX.
Visitation will be at Pecos Funeral Home on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00
p.m. and on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pecos
Funeral Home Chapel, 607 W. 3rd St., Pecos, Texas 79772. With Poster Rey Carreon Officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
Marcos J. Contreras was born to Norberto and Manuela Contreras on April 25, 1940.
Marcos went to school in Pecos TX and obtained an associate degree in Criminal Justice from
Odessa College.
Marcos married Cecilia Contreras in 1961 in Pecos TX. After Cecilia passed, Marcos re-married
Elisa Contreras in 1989. Marcos was widowed in 2008.
Marcos became an Office Machine Technician and worked for Hubbs Office Supply, in Pecos,
for 25 years. In the 1980's and 1990's, he was Municipal Judge in Pecos.
In 1990, Marcos completed the Peace Officer Law Enforcement Academy.
He then became an Assistant Warden at the Reeves County Law Enforcement Center until he
retired in 2005.
Marcos is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cecilia Contreras, and his second wife, Elisa
Contreras; his parents, Norberto and Manuela Contreras; his brothers, Pilar and Paul Contreras,
and sister, Guadalupe Carrasco.
Marcos is survived by his son, Marc Contreras, and wife, Susan Contreras; daughter, Lisa
Trevino, and husband, Edmundo Trevino Jr.; sisters, Alicia Carrasco and Crissy Meza; six
grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
