Margarita Lara

Margarita Sanchez Lara, 91, of Pecos,Tx., passed away on May 2, 2021 in Odessa, Tx.

Margarita Sanchez Lara, was born in Bismark North Dakota to Jesus and Nicasia Sanchez on July 20, 1929. She married Jeronimo O. Lara on February 15, 1947 in Petrol, Tx.

Margarita worked as a homemaker for 53 years. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, traveling, camping, and being with family. Anyone who knew Margarita knew she was very sweet with everyone but also wasn't afraid to get feisty. Anyone who visited her wasn't going to leave her on an empty stomach. She enjoyed entertaining guests.

Margarita Lara is preceded in death by her husband Jeronimo, one son Santiago, her mother, father, sisters, and brothers.

Margarita Lara is survived by her daughter Elisa Mata and husband Felix Mata of Odessa, Tx. Grandson Felix Lara Mata of Odessa, Tx., Granddaughter Vanessa Brito and husband Joe Brito of Odessa, Tx., Son Cristobal Lara of Odessa, Tx., as well as other grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Felix Lara Mata. Joe Brito, Jesus Jacobs, Jose I. Mata, Roque Matta, Dulces Mata.

Visitation will be Tuesday May 11, 2021 from 9am to 8pm with rosary at 6:30pm at Pecos Funeral Home on 607 w. 3RD. St. in Pecos, Texas. Mask and social distancing is to be maintained at all time.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am. Wednesday May 12, 2021 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church. Only the immediate family and pallbearers are to be at the Funeral Home on the day of the service.  Family and friends are to be at church at 9 am. so they can be seated masks are required to be worn, this is per the church request.

Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Lara Family Cemetery in Petrol, Tx.
