Maria Estela Sanchez

Maria Estela Sanchez, beloved homemaker and devoted mother, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, in Odessa, Texas. Born on November 7, 1942, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, she lived a life marked by dedication to her family and the warmth of a loving home.

Maria was married to Daniel Sanchez Valenzuela in Presidio, Texas, with whom she shared many cherished years before his passing. As a housewife, she nurtured her family with grace and love, creating an environment of support and guidance for her children and grandchildren. Her legacy is reflected in the accomplishments and happiness of those she nurtured.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel S. Valenzuela; her parents, Maria Marquez and Jose De La Luz Rios; her brother, Jesus Rios, her son Juan Daniel Sanchez, her sister Rosalia Rios, and her sister-in-law Concha Rios. These losses deepen the sadness felt by those who loved her.

She is survived by her children: Maria Estela and Victor Sanchez, Cruz Sanchez and Frederico Carrasco, Raul and Mary Jane Rios, Lupita and Beto Gomez, Eleuterio and Valene Sanchez, and Julio Sanchez. Maria also leaves behind a rich legacy through her numerous grandchildren—RJ Rios, Katiria Hernandez, Daniella Sanchez, Abigail Carrasco, Daisy Gomez, Junior Jorge Gomez, Luiz Gomez, Lynsey Gomez, Eddie Sanchez, Juan Daniel Sanchez, Nadia Sanchez, Zyrick, Avian, and Levi Sanchez—as well as countless great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them as they honor Maria's life. Visitation will be held at Pecos Funeral Home, located at 607 W 3rd St, Pecos, Texas, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on March 5, 2025. A Prayer Service will take place that same day at 7:00 PM. Maria's Funeral Service will be held on March 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church, located at 620 E 4th St, Pecos, Texas, concluding at 11:00 AM.

Pallbearers entrusted with carrying her to rest will be RJ Rios, Eddie Sanchez, Juan Sanchez, Zyrick Sanchez, Junior Gomez, and Luisito Gomez.

Maria Estela Sanchez’s spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, serving as a guiding light and a source of unwavering love. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
