Maria Martinez

Maria C. Martinez, 71, of Pecos, Tx, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a sister to all who knew her. Maria was well known in the Community for directing and overseeing the Christian Home and Store over 20 years. She selflessly devoted her time to helping so many people, making lifelong friends along the way. She will be greatly missed.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents Victor and Maria Carrasco, her husband Jose A. Martinez Sr., sons Steven Perez, Jose C. Martinez, John Anthony Martinez, and Joel Martinez, daughter Marbella Martinez, and daughter in-law Maribel Martinez, sisters Rosaida Carrasco, Victoria Renteria, Anita Montano, and brother Ruben Carrasco.

Maria is survived by her sons Hunberto (Genice) Garay, Abraham Garay, Jose (Michelle) Martinez, Manuel (Amalia) Martinez, daughters Melisa (Roger) Avila, Norma (Ruben) Fonseca, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, sister Antonia (Alvino) Arenivas, sister in-law Yolanda Carrasco, brothers Ismael Carrasco, Juan Carrasco along with, many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Roger Avila Jr., Pablo Avila, Daniel Avila, Jose Luis Jimenez (JJ), Steven Angel Perez, and Nathan Garay.

Visitation will be at Pecos Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 1pm to 9: 00pm. with a prayer service to follow at 7 pm.

Church Service will be at North Temple Baptist Church on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 10:00am with burial following at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
