Maria Chavez

Maria O. Chavez, 93 of Pecos passed away the Thursday morning January 9, 2014.
Maria was born to Tomas and Solone Ornelas on March 20, 1920 in Fort Stockton. She later met and married her husband Cruz R. Acosta, the couple had six and were married for 37 years until Cruzs death in 1974. Maria later met and married Pedro Chavez.
Maria was well known for her cooking and all her family and friends will miss the wonderful meals that she lovingly prepared for them.
Maria is preceded in death by her two husbands Cruz Acosta, and Pedro Chavez. She is also precede in death by her daughter Alicia A. Rodriguez.
Maria is survived by two sons, Luis Acosta and wife Irene, David J. Acosta and wife Ester, both of Pecos. Maria is also survived by three daughters Angelina and husband Pete Sanchez of Monahans, TX. Valentina Whitmore of Las Vegas, NV. And Cruzita Acosta of the home, along with 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
A rosary is scheduled for Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 7:30PM at the Pecos Funeral Home. Mass is scheduled for Monday January 13, 2014 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church.
