Maria Garcia

Maria Ramirez Garcia, 90, of Pecos, passed away on August 13, 2022 in Midland, Texas. Maria was born in Mexico to Librado and Luz Ramirez on September 30, 1931.  She married Adan T. Garcia in 1949.  She was a homemaker and raised her 10 children in Pecos. She loved all children and everyone was always welcome in her home. She greeted her visitors with a smile and an offer of a warm homemade meal.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Maria is preceded in death by her husband Adan T. Garcia, and her daughter Elma Gonzalez.

Maria is survived by her sons and daughters: Maria Carrasco, Lupe Prieto, Ruben Garcia, Elida Garcia, Monica Garcia, Adan Garcia, Jr., Sally Hodges, Bertha Benedict and George Garcia. In addition, she is survived by 34 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren and 24 great, great, grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm., to 9 pm, with Rosary at 7 pm Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Pecos Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2022 at Santa Rosa Church.  Burial will follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Emilio Lopez, Joeray Cedillo, Colton Benedict, Andrea Garcia, Albert Carrasco, George Garcia, Jr. and honorary pallbearers will be Edward Prieto and Mickey Garcia.

The family of Maria wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her friends and family who visited her while she was in the nursing home and invite you to celebrate her life and memory after the burial at St. Catherine’s Hall.
